This program equips you to teach adults aged 18+, whether they have existing swimming experience or not. You’ll be taken through the curriculum for SSI Adult Swim I & II, so that you can confidently assess, support and guide mature swimmers in the water.
Teaching adults is very different from teaching kids—adults learn with their conceptual minds as well as their bodies, so you need to be able to explain things in detail, answer questions and be knowledgeable about the theory behind swimming and swimming education. You may also need to work with aquaphobic individuals or those who’ve never swum before to gradually release their fears and get comfortable in water.
Our program covers all this and more in detail, so that you will be able to assess your adult students’ levels, fine-tune their strokes and guide them to make sustainable progress in their swim training.

Swim Instructor Adult is taught over X days for a total of 20-24 hours training time, plus a minimum of 4 hours of apprenticeship.
